Commercial pool service in Atlanta, Georgia

Inside the city, the pools are on rooftops, at hotels, and in condominium towers. They run year-round, they are inspected by two health departments, and parking is part of the plan.

Pools in Atlanta

Atlanta pools are a different job. In Midtown, Buckhead, West Midtown, and along the BeltLine, the pool is on the roof or an upper-floor amenity deck of a high-rise apartment or condominium building, or it belongs to a hotel that keeps it open and heated every day of the year. The volumes are small, the loads are heavy, the equipment is in a mechanical room several floors from the water, and the plumbing runs through the building.

We service them as year-round operations. The controller reads pH, ORP, filter pressure, and water temperature continuously and doses to setpoint; a heater that drops out overnight shows up as a temperature trend on the dashboard before the front desk hears about it. Visits are scheduled around loading-dock hours and parking, which in Midtown is a real constraint, and the technician arrives with the readings already in hand.

Two health departments

The city of Atlanta spans Fulton and DeKalb counties. A pool in Buckhead or Midtown is inspected by the Fulton County Board of Health; a pool in the DeKalb portion, around Druid Hills and toward Decatur, is inspected by the DeKalb County Board of Health. Both enforce Georgia DPH Chapter 511-3-5, but the offices, schedules, and forms differ, and DeKalb's rule sheet is in our platform. Year-round pools are inspected at least twice a year. We know which county each pool is in and keep the log book to that office.

Spas and indoor pools

Hotel and condominium spas are a few hundred gallons at 102 degrees, used all day. They are their own body of water under the code, tested and treated separately, and drained and refilled on a schedule set by use. Indoor pools carry an air-quality problem: combined chlorine, the chloramine smell guests complain about, builds fast without routine shocking. We keep it under the code limit and log it.
